After perestroika and glasnost, Russia is now ready for visitors and businessmen to be discovered. The history of this century is profoundly marked by the destiny of the biggest country changing so drastically from communism to a market economy. Moscow as the capital plays the key role in this transformation. New shops and restaurants open everywhere in the streets and bring in a lively color into the gray of the buildings of social realism. Moscow is not only the center of power but also starting point for traveling throughout the country. Is there any other place to meet past and nowadays culture and the very soul of Russians than in their capital ? We are delighted to invite you to the famous Lomonosov-University in Moscow.

We would like to invite you to learn the Russian language at the Russian Language Center of the Lomonosiv University headed by Prof. Pautov. Moscow State University is the biggest and oldest University of Russia, founded in 1755 by the poet and scientist Mikhail Lomonosov. More than 30000 students are nowadays enrolled at 16 different faculties. MGU was the alma mater of many famous artists, politicians and scientists, such as Mikhail Gorbatschev or Jegor Gaidar. It is beautifully located in the middle of a huge park at the outside of the towns city on the former Lenin hills, a 15 min. metro ride from the red square. The main building is 240m high built after Word War II in the typical Stalinian style. Included in the large campus are many libraries hosting more than 6 million books, magazines, kiosks, banks, hairdresser, cinema, theater, sport and leisure facilities.
The Russian Language Center offers courses of all levels. Subjects can be chosen from standard grammar, conversation, phonetics, or literature to more specialized subjects such as Russian for scientists, teaching Russian, Russian law, business Russian etc. Teachers have many years of experience with foreign students. Every year, more than 300 students are enrolling in such courses, mostly from Korea, USA and Western European Countries. The Russian Language Center is equipped with modern facilities such as language laboratories and classes are mostly individual or in small groups. Individual classes guarantee maximum efficiency for individual needs and are therefore highly recommended. A certificate is delivered to all participants.
Students with language knowledge can also take course at all other faculties.

Application | 
Applications should come as soon as possible, latest four weeks before departure. You will receive a confirmation and course material including a 60 page colored brochure about the university. We will also send you an official invitation to apply for a visa at your embassy. Application forms can be ordered by mail.
Accommodation | 
We can offer newly refurbished rooms in the guest hostel of MGU right in the main building. Rooms have shower and separate toilet and can be equipped with television, fridge and phone upon demand. Every floor has its own kitchen and a room for conversion and discussions. On every floor, there is a reception desk ensuring maximum convenience and safety.
Living with a family
If you want to live with a Russian family, we can offer home stays in the neighborhood of MGU including accommodation in a separate room and breakfast. If you are not satisfied with your family, you can change easily.
Food and drink | 
There are four university cafeterias that offer breakfast and diner from 8 a.m. until 8 p.m. Typical Russian dishes such as soup, fish and meat are being served as well as western European like meals. Prices are moderate at 2 to 4 USD for a main course. Quality has improved a lot over the last years and is comparable to western European university cafeterias. However, you wonąt always find knives. In a newly opened restaurant and in some cafes, you can find high quality food with good service, but significantly more expensive.
Excursion and travel | 
You can book excursions and visits to museums right in Moscow at the ŚRussian Language Center. Also, tickets for theater, ballet, circus, opera can be bought in our office. Of course, we are delighted to organize your travel in Russia. With your Russian student card, you will benefit of substantial reduction on air and train fares. Just donąt miss this opportunity.

We are committed to offer high quality courses that exactly fit with your needs at affordable prices for students. We can only do so as a former student organization with many years of experience in the field.
a) Anmeldung
Application has to be announced at least four weeks before departure, for late applications a express tarif will be valid. The application will be valid after payment only. Payment is due at least 30 days before departure, for late application immediatly.
b) Annulation
The Cancellation of the chosen program or parts of it has to be announced in written form (Fax). Until 20 days beforethe first contracted services are used cancelling will cost USD 100.- (SFr.100.-), until 15 days before 20 % of the paid sum, afterwards 50 %. C osts for visa and cancelling an already booked flight are calculated separately and charged in any case.
c) Prolongation
Prolongation of courses and stay in Moscow is possible after contacting our local representative.
d) Change of program
The program is subject to change. If we cannot find an equal replacement, you will be reimbursed the difference in value. Changes in prices will be announced until 21 days before departure. If not explained or if exceeding 10 % of the contracted sum, you can cancel the contract without further costs within 6 days.
e) Liability
Sprachreisen Russland shall not be liable in connection with its contraced services for (a) incidental, consequential, special or indirect damages of any sort, whether arising in tort, contract or otherwise, even if Sprachreisen Russland has been informed of the possibility of such damages, or (b) for any claim by any other party. Liability is limited to double the contracted sum.
f) Insurance
Every student must have an insurance for accident and illness.
